Baylor

First week of fall semester, freshman year is done and in the history books. It's been a whirlwind of events since Monday. In fact starting Thursday Baylor has what they call Welcome Week where they place you in a small group of about 15 and you do activities; meals, meals with faculty, spirit rally, serenade (where they freshman guy dorms sing for all the girls dorms // a blast!), church fair, the Big Event (a HUGE dance party with huge inflatables! and of course the final candlelight ceremony. All that before Monday!!! Classes started and anytime I wasn't doing school work I was at an event or hanging with new friends from my floor.

Probably my favorite thing that I've done is meet people. Although I won't remember half the names that I've heard in the past week, I love getting to know new guys and the more people I meet the more I know that this is exactly where God wants me. The community that I have made in my short time here in fall semester has blown my mind and gets me super excited for whats to come.

One thing that I had the opportunity to attend is this ministry called Vertical. This last week it met in Waco Hall and it was packed! Waco Hall holds 2200! I was blown away at the crowd that was there. Anyway, it was an awesome time and God was just whispering in my ear during the worship time that I am exactly where He wants me. One of the worship songs that we sung was Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) by Hillsong. It reminded me of Matthew 14:28-33 where Peter sees Jesus walking on water and steps out of the boat to start to walk towards Him. He suddenly starts to doubt and begins to sink. This was a great reminder of how I just need to keep focused on Jesus and not doubt Him as I start my college career.

A few links before you go:

My brother, Patrick, is the Executive Producer of SerialBox Presents. Check out this well crafted website and the beautiful content in each session. Amazing quality and very entertaining! Click here to view.

If you want to listen to the Vertical message from Monday, Song of Solomon, I highly recommend it if you're a young adult. Good stuff. Click here to listen.

Common Grounds just got #1 best coffee shop near a college campus by Fox News, click here to see article. I'm also now their official photographer for their shows which is pretty exciting for me.

If you haven't gotten Ben Rector's new album the Walking In Between, get it here! It's pretty awesome and I got to see him at Floyd Casey, Baylor's football stadium (until next year), for the traditions rally. Great show!

A quote I posted on Facebook this last week. Really liked it so I thought I'd share again:

“We can ignore even pleasure. But pain insists upon being attended to. God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” - C.S. Lewis

Until next time!
